"No matter how successful I've been, I've never changed my character or my down-to-earth attitude. I don't believe in defining myself through clothes or luxury brands. For me, it's who you are that counts, not what you wear."

This is the introductory text to Andreas Belzek's success story.
I spent my entire childhood in Poland - those are my roots. We really didn't have anything back then. Eating something good like bananas or oranges was rare, almost a luxury. I remember that there were bananas or oranges maybe twice a year. Whenever I had a can of Coke and a banana in my hands, it was a real highlight. I had family who lived in the GDR - Uncle Karl and Uncle Alfred. They were important role models for me in our family. One of them was financially well off for those times and even owned a car and a motorcycle. The other was incredibly structured; everything at home was always in perfect order. He simply had his life under control. I wanted to be like them. I often thought: "When I grow up, I want to be as financially well off as one uncle and as perfectly organized as the other."
I had very few toys as a child. No Lego, no building blocks - nothing. We played with what we found outside. Once I discovered an old baby carriage, of which only the bottom part was left. With a few wooden planks, I built my first "car" from it. It was my first pram and we children pushed each other around in it. I was only nine years old, but even then I discovered my passion for building and creativity. The car already had my own design back then, because I used old pickle jars with gold lids to make the lights and much more. I put a lot of heart and soul into it.
"Success is possible in any field if you bring hard work, heart and passion. It doesn't matter where you work, if you believe in yourself and your goals, you can be the best anywhere."
